After graduating from university, Rob’s career journey progressed from mastering traditional in-frame furniture to overseeing substantial, high-profile projects, consistently focusing on outstanding design and client satisfaction.

Rob's personal life is filled with the joy and adventures he shares with his family. He cherishes the time spent with his wife, their lively three-year-old daughter, and their playful one-year-old son. This deep family bond significantly influences his professional approach; Rob leads Kitchens by Kemp Ltd with a vision that transforms every kitchen into a central hub for family gatherings, a nurturing space for growth, and a cradle for lifelong memories. Under his leadership, every project becomes more than just a segment of a house—it becomes an essential element of a home.

Darren Ravenscroft

Operations Director

Darren's decision to join the business in 2020, influenced by his friendship with Rob and their shared vision for the future, marked a significant step forward for the company. His background in digital product development has been vital in bringing new advanced solutions to the business, refreshing how the company approaches design and interacts with clients. Darren's wide-ranging experience in tech-focused roles has sharpened his project management skills and improved the customer experience.

Outside of work, Darren's passion for motorsport is evident in his participation in 24hr endurance races with his go-karting team, Raven Motorsport. This challenging hobby mirrors his dynamic approach and strategic thinking in his professional life. His commitment to these demanding races underscores his belief in teamwork and careful planning, qualities he effectively brings to his role at Kitchens by Kemp. Darren's contribution has been key in fusing the company’s tradition of craftsmanship with modern technological innovations.

Ed Exelby

Senior Designer

Ed is a designer whose fifteen-year journey in the kitchen industry is as varied and finely detailed as the exquisite kitchens he creates. From the technical sophistication of German-engineered kitchens to the sleek allure of Italian designs and the timeless charm of English handcrafted furniture, Ed's experience has been comprehensive. His refined sensibility for design allows him to tune into the unique desires and personalities of his clients, delivering spaces that are not only visually stunning but also deeply personal.

Joining Kemp Studio two years ago, Ed brought with him a creative eye honed by a degree in photography. His hobbies are as nuanced as his designs, with interests in contemporary horology and cartography. Ed's work is a testament to his belief in design that transcends the ordinary – aiming for a thoughtful beauty that fully engages the senses and elevates everyday experiences.

Mara Muscel

Designer

Mara brings a unique cultural perspective to her work. She is a bilingual designer whose design journey has taken her from orchestrating event designs, to residential interiors and crafting high-end kitchens. Her approach goes beyond creating beautiful kitchens; it's about capturing the essence of each client's story in a space they can truly call their own.

Mara's background in Anthropology provides her with a nuanced understanding of cultural influences, societal dynamics, and individual experiences. This academic foundation enriches her approach to kitchen design, allowing her to delve beyond aesthetics and consider the functional and emotional needs of those who will inhabit these spaces. In essence, Mara doesn't just design kitchens; she crafts environments that reflect the essence of the people who call them home. Gemma Leigh

Designer

Meet Gemma, a seasoned professional with an impressive 15-year tenure in the kitchen design industry, rooted deeply in a family legacy. Growing up surrounded by the artistry of kitchen design through her family's business, Oakleigh Cabinets, Gemma initially ventured into the industry to contribute the marketing knowledge she gained at university. Little did she know that her true passion lay in the hands-on creation of dream interiors. Over the next 13 years, Gemma immersed herself in the world of design and sales, mastering the craft of translating visions into tangible, stunning furniture.

Having previously collaborated with Rob to supply clients with exquisite furniture, Gemma found a seamless transition when her parents retired and Oakleigh closed in 2023. Moving to Kemp and effortlessly integrating into the established team, Gemma continues to pursue her love for helping clients bring their dream interiors to life. With a wealth of experience and a practical approach to design, Gemma is not just a designer but a dedicated professional, crafting kitchens, bedrooms and many other items of furniture that are both beautiful and functional.
